Founded by two brothers in the rugged heart of Alba, Romania, Smoked In Transylvania is a return to honesty. We combine the deep heritage of Carpathian craftsmanship with premium, traceable local cuts to create smoked meats that are as clean as they are flavourful. We don’t just smoke meat; we honour Transylvanian heritage.
The Foundation of a New Tradition
In the quiet valleys of Transylvania, there is a specific scent that defines the changing of the seasons: the crisp, clean aroma of hardwood smoke drifting from stone chimneys. This is where our story begins. For us, two brothers raised with a deep respect for the Transylvanian table, that scent was a reminder of a craft that seemed to be fading. We watched as the supermarket shelves became crowded with “processed meats” that had lost their connection to the land—products filled with water, additives, and synthetic flavours that stripped away the dignity of the animal and the heritage of the region.
We founded Smoked In Transylvania to reclaim that lost dignity. Our mission was born from a simple but stubborn belief that the word “processed” shouldn’t be a warning label, but a testament to a meticulous, artisanal journey. We wanted to prove to Romania and the world that premium smoked meat is not a commodity, but a culinary art form that demands patience, transparency, and a soul.
